Colorado & Derbies

This summer, I have a horse show going on and it’s my favorite one of the show year: Estes Park Colorado. It’s located in Estes Park (well duh) and it is incredible.

There are many reasons while it is my favorite horse show of the year… I mainly like it because it is GORGEOUS. The horse show grounds are basically in a valley, and there are huge mountains all around you. It is so relaxing! And there is also a big lake nearby.

Even though it’s summer, the temperatures in Colorado are still fairly cool, so the temperatures are amazing to ride in compared to here! I had to wear a kind of heavy jacket in the mornings last year! Also, the  overall weather is always beautiful.

Another thing I like about the show is that it is two weeks long, and there it lots to do around the town. They have the cutest shops and activities, and due to my two weeks of being there, I have lots of time to shop and walk around town, 😉 And don’t even get me started on the restraunts…

I am so very excited, and down below there is a picture of me and Bella from last year that my mom took! Enjoy!

Summer is so close, and I am so excited! The school year has gone by so fast, and I can’t wait for it to be over so that my summer will be underway! 😀

I have many plans for this summer and am so excited for everything. I have a few horse shows this summer which are super exciting. I have some Waco shows in June, and a show in Colorado in July. I also have a trip I am going on this summer for my birthday which is going to be an incredible experience. Other than those things I will be home hanging with friends or at the barn riding! This school year has been so busy, and I can’t wait for a 3 month break of relaxation and no worries and stress.

What are your plans for the summer? Only 18 days away!!!

I am so very excited for summer, and even more excited because it’s so close! I have so many plans for the summer that are sure to be awesome.

I have a few horse shows this summer that are really fun. I have one in Estes Park Colorado and the other in Santa Fe New Mexico. The Eestes Park one was a blast last year and I am so excited to go again! We are also going to a Santa Fe show this year which is brand new! I am so excited to go and see what it’s like. 🙂

This summer I am also going on my Canada trip. The trip is in June and it’s just so close! I can’t help but be so anxious and excited. I can’t wait to see what this amazing adventure will bring, and I hope June arrives fast!

Spring Break

With Spring Break being so close, I thought I would do a blog post about spring break and some reasons I like it! So here we go. 🙂

Reason 1: I love Spring Break because it gives us students a rest from school, homework, tests, and all the stress that comes with it. Keeping up with schoolwork is very hard, especially when you do an all year time consuming sport like I do! Spring Break may not last very long, but the week off is enough time to get our brains back into gear and relieve some stress. It is very much needed and I am so glad we have it.

Reason 2: I also love Spring Break because my family and I always go on vacation. We have gone on a cruise, to Santa Fe, and last year we went to Destin Florida! This year we are going to Florida again to this really cool place called Watercolor. The resort has so many activities and I am so excited. I believe one of the activities is riding horses on the beach… we all know what that means! I am so excited to get out of town and spend some time in Florida!

Spring Break is wonderful and fun, and I can’t wait to spend time with my family! Where are you guys going for Spring Break this year?

My Birthday & Valentines Day

I am really excited because tomorrow is my birthday! I am so excited to get to spend it with my family, and I am excited to see what I am going to get present wise.

I don’t know anything about what I’m going to get tomorrow, the only present I am aware of is getting the chance to go to Canada in June to meet Lacey Jamieson’s (my friend/inspiration who passed away in 2013) parents! I linked Lacey Jamieson’s instagram account and her youtube where I have typed her name, so check that out if you want! I have also made a couple blog posts about the trip and about Lacey so check those out if you would like as well. 🙂

Also Valentines Day is coming up! I will be at a horse show during Valentines day, but hopefully my whole family will come so we will get to spend it together anyways. I love Valentines Day and think it’s a great holiday. <3

In our family, a tradition is whenever we turn 13, we get to choose a trip we would like to go on to celebrate. I have chosen Canada! It is far away, so we are not sure if it can happen or not, but It would be very fun and an inspiring trip for me… Here is why!

Back in 2013, I had a friend online who was very sweet. She was an equestrian like me, and an AMAZING rider. She was fearless, funny, and as sweet as can be. She truly loved the horses, and she was one of the most inspiring girls I had ever known. On October 13th, 2013, at only 16 years old, she passed away from a rare blood disease called HLH. She was on the news and everything. It was a very tragic loss. 🙁

Her parents sometimes invite some girls that Lacey (the girl and there daughter) inspired to Canada, and visit with them. In some cases they even let the girls ride her horse! It is super cool, and I may be one of the lucky girls to go and do that. It would be so amazing to experience part of her life that some girls would die to experience. It really is a big deal. Lacey inspired over 130k people through instagram.

^This is a photo of Lacey jumping her horse Bonkers without hands. 🙂 I love jumping without hands, and by the smile on her face you could tell she loved it too.

So that is the story of the wonderful Lacey, and I really hope I get to go up to Canada for my 13th birthday trip, it would be truly amazing!

Zone 7 Finals!

Zone 7 finals is one of the bigger shows in my area, that takes place around the end of the year (mostly in November). It is 2 weeks long, and it is always really fun!

Last week was the first week, and tomorrow (aka Friday) I am heading out again for the next weekend! Bella was amazing last week, and we had some really good rounds, and did very well out of many riders. The flat classes went really well also, and we got some great ribbons.

Last weekend, I tried out a horse that I may buy. His name is Bravo! He is still a baby and is only 5 years old, so he was a bit hard to steer, but other than that he was amazing! He’s really big too.

So that’s about it! I can’t wait to go back to Houston this weekend for finals. Wish Bella and I luck! :’)

I can’t believe Christmas is SO close! I know we still have Thanksgiving to go, but my mind is already on Christmas!

Christmas is my favorite holiday, and to me, it is the best time of the year. There are cookies, Christmas  carols, lights everywhere you go, and much more. Around Christmas time, everything just feels extra cheerful and happy. I love to go shopping while we are on break, and see all the Christmas trees in the stores. I think it is also really cool that people decorate so many trees on the side of the road. You can drive and see tons of amazing decorations on the many trees.

We put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, and decorate it with all of our decorations and lights. It is so fun. Then on Christmas Eve, our whole family comes to our house, and we have a fun Christmas dinner together. We eat enchiladas from Maudie’s and some more food, and we bake cookies and decorate them for “Santa”. A fun tradition for us is, we get to open a couple presents from the family before Christmas morning. When everyone leaves, my family and I make some hot chocolate, grab a few cookies, and watch Christmas movies, and go to bed a little later.

It is so fun, and every Christmas morning, I get to go to my barn and spend time with my amazing horsey. Santa likes to leave some things in her stocking too. Last year, he left some yummy treats. ;’)
