E3 2018

Okay, so E3 is coming up soon, and I’m super excited. For those of you who don’t know, E3 is the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and it’s easily the biggest gaming expo in the world. In it, a bunch of video game companies announce a bunch of new games, and for those lucky enough to actually attend, you get to PLAY some of said new games. I really wish I could go one year….

But even if I can’t go, I can still watch all of the announcements live! I usually only watch the Nintendo showcase, but seeing as I obtained a PC recently, I will be watching some of the other showcases too. There are surely gonna be some pretty big announcements, and I’m going to list my predictions / hopes for these announcements (mostly for Nintendo).

[Super Smash Bros. / Metroid Prime 4 / Yoshi] These games are obvious, there’s almost no doubt that they will be featured. I’m Hoping for gameplay and release dates.

[Mario Tennis Aces] This one’s also obvious, it’s gonna be in there somewhere.

[Pokémon / Fire Emblem] These games were announced, but absolutely nothing was shown of them. These are very likely to be covered at some point. I also predict that Pokémon Switch will be a generation 4 remake.

[Misc. games] (Undertale, Crash Bandicoot, Hollow Knight, Captain Toad, Donkey Kong, Shovel Knight, the World Ends With You) More games that were announced, but little details were given. I’m Hoping for release dates

[Mother 3] EarthBound is my favorite game of all time, and I’ve been waiting for a release of its sequel outside of Japan forever. It’s taken so long already that this is highly unlikely now.

[Ports] (Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts 3, Spyro Reignited) Games that are upcoming for other consoles but aren’t confirmed for Switch or PC. Unlikely, but possible.

[Zelda ports] Zelda: Wind Waker and Zelda: Twilight Princess had HD ports to the Wii U, I’m hoping that these HD remakes are ported to Switch (plus Skyward Sword HD… maybe?). These seem quite likely, seeing as so many Wii U games are getting ported to Switch.

[Waluigi] I just wanna see Waluigi.

[Something unexpected from Nintendo] We got this last year with the announcements of Metroid Prime 4, and that makes me wonder – what’s gonna happen this year? Weather it be F-Zero, Pikmin, Animal Crossing or a new series altogether, I want to see something that I can’t predict from Nintendo.

[A third installment from Valve] Guys, just do Half Life 3 or Portal 3. I don’t really care that much about this, but they need to make a third installment in one of their series. Seriously, do they only work in twos?

[Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will suck] Well, it’s a CoD game, so this much is pretty much already guaranteed.

[Rare Replay] This is easily the most unlikely thing on the list, seeing as Rare is owned by Microsoft, BUT Microsoft HAS ported some of their games to other consoles (Minecraft), so there is some hope. Please make this happen. I wanna see some of these games on Switch.

[More Waluigi] It’d be cool if Waluigi had his own game. But I just want more Waluigi.

[Virtual Console] Why hasn’t this happened yet? Virtual Console has been on the Wii, 3DS, and Wii U, and yet it’s STILL not on Switch. I want to be able to play these games on the Switch, and wouldn’t it be cool if they added GameCube Virtual Console? This HAS to happen eventually, so why not at E3?

[Paper Mario] The last two Paper Mario games have been kind of disappointing, and I feel like it’s time for a good one. I want to see the great writing and characters brought back from the first Paper Mario games.

[Sushi Striker: Way of the Sushido] Obvioulsy the best game.

[Mario and Luigi 3DS] Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga was recently remade for the 3DS, and the Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s inside Story remake was recently announced for 2019. I feel like we will get more details on that at E3, and while it’s likely that Partners in Time will be remade as well, that probably won’t be announced this year.

So there you have it, my predictions / hopes for E3. If you have any predictions for E3 of your own, please leave them in the comments.
