Hunger Games Poem

The rose reeked of blood
So cold, so white

Just like the man who wore it
Who reeked of destruction
So cruel yet so fragile

Just like the girl who killed him
Who reeked of depression
So natural yet so gone

Unlike the game that caused all this
The cruel management of the capitol
Now gone,defeated

Inspired by The Hunger Games

Authors Note
In the draft I decided to pay homage to the book The Hunger Games By Suzanne Collins. I experimented with repetition. I also created a dark and illusive feeling for my readers so that it would add to the poem. You can only understand the full meaning of this poem if you have read the full Hunger Games trilogy.
