She’s Home!

Over Thanksgiving, my older sister came home to celebrate from Mississippi. My whole family is so happy she came to visit and we missed her so much while she was gone.

My sister attends college at Ole Miss and felt the need for a visit home. My sister enjoys surfing on our lake and taking rides on our boat. I would come back too if I were her.

The only downside I can think of with her coming back is all of her college friends coming and going through our house. It gets very loud when her friends come over. Luckily, we are flying to Mississippi again tomorrow, so we won’t have to deal with all the crazy college kids.

Even though her visits attract her friends, we are so happy she is so close to us and agreed to spend Thanksgiving with us in Mississippi.

Thanksgiving Plans

Next week, as you may know, is Thanksgiving! I’m so excited to see my whole family, eat delicious food, and make everlasting memories.

This year, my family and I are flying to Jackson, Mississippi. Once we get there on Wednesday, we will drive to our cabin, get settled in, and start preparing everything. The only struggle about doing all of this is containing our excitement for the next day.

Once Thanksgiving arrives, we make sure everything is in place and the food tastes great. After that, the rest of my family starts to arrive. There is a lot of us, so it usually gets very loud and crowded. Everyone is just hanging out and having a great time, but, soon, everyone gets hungry and the feast begins.

The kitchen is always filled with varieties of food. We couldn’t have cooked all of it, so some of our family brings their own food. When getting your plate of food, you have to try to be the first or most of the good stuff will run out. The early bird gets the worm, I guess.

After everyone is done eating, the amount of people decreases over an hour or two. Every year, I get sad to see it even over already.

We will say our goodbyes and, sadly, start to clean up. Every year is always a blast no matter what. I can’t wait to see what this year brings…

My Family

My family is a very important part of my life. I have two sisters, a brother, a mom, and a dad. Pretty basic, I guess. Except we live right by Lake Austin and own five bunnies, a guinea pig, three dogs, a hamster, a cat, and way too many fish.

My family is very exciting too. They are funny, kind, crazy, and we LOVE to travel. Just this summer my parents took their own little getaway all over Europe. So far, my favorite place to go is Costa Rica. Every time we go, we rent out a beautiful house and share it with some family friends.

We are also a very active family. My mom and I love to play tennis, my dad loves golf, my brother plays football for his high school, my older sister was an amazing cheerleader for her high school, and my little sister still has to find out what sport is good for her. My family loves to wake surf on the lake. We usually go after school and A LOT during the summer.

My family has made me who I am today. I love my family so so much and I have no idea of what I would do without them.
