She’s Home!

Over Thanksgiving, my older sister came home to celebrate from Mississippi. My whole family is so happy she came to visit and we missed her so much while she was gone.

My sister attends college at Ole Miss and felt the need for a visit home. My sister enjoys surfing on our lake and taking rides on our boat. I would come back too if I were her.

The only downside I can think of with her coming back is all of her college friends coming and going through our house. It gets very loud when her friends come over. Luckily, we are flying to Mississippi again tomorrow, so we won’t have to deal with all the crazy college kids.

Even though her visits attract her friends, we are so happy she is so close to us and agreed to spend Thanksgiving with us in Mississippi.

Thanksgiving Plans

Next week, as you may know, is Thanksgiving! I’m so excited to see my whole family, eat delicious food, and make everlasting memories.

This year, my family and I are flying to Jackson, Mississippi. Once we get there on Wednesday, we will drive to our cabin, get settled in, and start preparing everything. The only struggle about doing all of this is containing our excitement for the next day.

Once Thanksgiving arrives, we make sure everything is in place and the food tastes great. After that, the rest of my family starts to arrive. There is a lot of us, so it usually gets very loud and crowded. Everyone is just hanging out and having a great time, but, soon, everyone gets hungry and the feast begins.

The kitchen is always filled with varieties of food. We couldn’t have cooked all of it, so some of our family brings their own food. When getting your plate of food, you have to try to be the first or most of the good stuff will run out. The early bird gets the worm, I guess.

After everyone is done eating, the amount of people decreases over an hour or two. Every year, I get sad to see it even over already.

We will say our goodbyes and, sadly, start to clean up. Every year is always a blast no matter what. I can’t wait to see what this year brings…

Ole Miss V.S. Alabama Football Game

Last weekend, I went to Oxford, Mississippi to visit my sister in college and go to the Ole Miss V.S. Alabama football game in the grove. My dad, my brother, and my sister were the only ones in the stadium.

The grove is an area cramped with tents, families, and college kids. Even though I wasn’t actually in the stadium, I still had a blast. The grove is filled with cheering, food, and laughter. It’s almost impossible to get bored in the grove.

The exciting part was, of course, the football game going on right next to the grove. Ole Miss rebels played a great game and won 23-17. Once they won, everyone was cheering and screaming (except the Alabama fans.) In the stadium, everyone ran out on the field and climbed on top of the field goal. And, because of the weight, it eventually came apart.

Well, we finally beat the #1 team in the nation. LSU Tigers better be prepared on October 25th.
