One Story, Two Perspectives

It has always been this way

Stress builds up –

Stress has –

Like crowds,

Like a schedule,

Waiting for the grand opening

Never changing,

Behind the ribbon

The same thoughts every day

Anticipating the moment it will be cut

Anticipating the moment it will change

So they can finally be free,

But the day never comes,

Free from your mind

Always the same,

And out in public,

Always certain what will happen next,

Where you can’t take anything back

It has always been this way

And so the scissors open

A project –

Almost late

You bear the load

The ones of no help rely on you,

Trusting you to complete it

Yet again, you get the short end of the stick,

They take everything for granted,

Expecting a perfect score

The clock ticking,

Out of time, not ideal

The blame only put on you

It inches closer                                                                                                  It has always been this way

A shadow –

It is you

All your friends are stars

Still shimmering at the sole of the sea

Dazzling from any distance

Agony fills you

Longing to be like them

While they shine brighter

Alas, the brighter they shine,

The darker your shadow becomes

It inches closer                                                                                                  It has always been this way

Expectations –

Never able to meet them,

Coming close, only to be shot back down

Disappointed glances pass

The hot eyes of judgment on you,

Striving to reach them

Realizing, no matter how much effort,

You will never meet them

It inches closer                                                                                                  It has always been this way

A class –

Almost failing

Pondering

Needing to jot down notes,

Needing to pass the next exam

As if your life depends on it,

That one subject, never was your friend

The tears of frustration flow down your cheeks

Knowing very well you are not prepared

It inches closer                                                                                                  It has always been this way

A Peer –

Once a friend

Betrayed

Never resting until you are ashamed,

Never ceasing to tell the secrets,

Modifying them for the worst

Not only their back is turned, but now everyone’s

Making you feel like garbage,

Thrown into the corner no one likes

Until it is finally cut                                                                                        It has always been this way

Snip

Not able to lash out at the individual beside you

Lashing out at the individual beside you

Anger, exasperated, furious, irritated, outraged,

Anger, exasperated, furious, irritated, outraged,

Emotions you can’t express

It seeps out of you

On the verge of saying the words you can’t speak

Like the crowd, raiding the now open store

Shedding a stream of tears,

You can not control it

You still control them,

Words you can’t take back,

You have to

However, the world keeps spinning,

The world keeps spinning,

Stopping for no one,

Stopping for no one,

The background stops and stares

You put the forced smile back on,

Observing the scene unfolding

Being as flawless as you can be while still holding the pain

Fictitious innuendos start spreading,

Every word spoken still fictitious,

Suggesting you are a snake attacking an innocent soul

The same schedule,

Arrows stab you, as they are clearly lies

Almost changed,

It is done,

But still, never changing

And so as another store opens,

It has always been this way

The scissors do too

The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani

Currently, I am reading The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani. The book takes place in a fictional world where every four years, two kids in every village gets taken away to go to the School for Good, or the School for Evil. If you go to the School for Evil, then you become a villain for a new fairytale, if you go to the School for Good, then you become the princess/prince of the same new fairytale. The schools are in the Endless Woods and no one knows how to go there except for the kidnapper. In this story, Sophie, a girl who looks like a natural princess, waits for the day when she can finally get kidnapped and go to the School for Good, her friend, Agatha, with the mysterious cat, and black clothes, seems like a natural fit for a villain. When the day comes where two children will be kidnapped, Sophie and Agatha get taken away, but Agatha goes to the School for Good, and Sophie goes to the School for Evil. This is a story about Sophie and Agatha trying to prove that they are in the wrong place, and, if in reality, they are in the right place, they are going to see how the ending is, and who gets a happily ever after.

Why is Blue Such a Popular Color

If you haven’t realized already, blue is a really popular color. (Sorry to those who don’t like blue.) I’ve decided to tell you why it seems like such a good color. According to reasearches, blue is associated with good things, like the sky, and bodies of water. It always says that if you look at all the things that go with blue, they’re mostly positive. Since our favorite color isn’t decided on one thing, but, the summary of all things we’ve experienced in our lifetimes. So it’s only natural that when you think of blue, you think of positive things, making it your favorite color.
