Wait, where’s j and k? This is the Latin alphabet, no j’s or k’s or w’s allowed, you get the idea. ¬†Language Evolution added the j the k the w,¬†but while over half the words in the English language come from Latin, its not considered a romance language. The y and the z are not included in Latin, but people in ancient Rome did speak some Greek words, some of which did include y and z. Two Notes: in Latin class, we never learned about the diphthong ei, and I don’t think it exists, but I don’t know for sure. Also, the diphthong ui is pronounced wee, as in what kids say when they go down a slide.
