Two Classics

September28

For my first bake I decided to make two cookies from one of my favorite children’s books, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Laura Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia Bond

I made two cookie recipes from the book, Snickerdoodles and Peanut Butter Munchies.

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie is about a boy who meets a mouse and gives him a cookie, but when he gives Mouse (that’s the mouse’s name( real creative, right?)) the cookie, he wants a glass of milk to go with it, and then one thing leads too the next and all of the sudden Mouse has cleaned the house, given himself a haircut and drawn a picture and the boy is running around trying to keep up with him. It’s defently worthy of being a classic, so I just want to say thank you to Laura Numeroff for writing this wonderful book.

Now its time to see if these cookies are any good, first lets make the more complicated Snickerdoodles cookies.

Here’s the recipe:

Don’t eat them yet! We have to bake them! Put those delicious spheres into the oven for 10-15 minutes, I usually do the middle time which is about 12 minutes but you should do whatever you need to do.

Next lets make the more simple Peanut Butter Munchies

I made the cookies and when it was time to shape them they just stuck to my hands! I think I used the wrong type of peanut butter, the peanut butter I used had a lot of oil so the cookies were really sticky so I would recommend using a peanut butter with not a lot of oil.

Now its time for my favorite part, eating them!

Yum!

See you next week for more delicious sweets!
