My Obsession with Glass Reflection

Glass Reflection is a blessing to all people in the otaku community. Finally! Someone who understands us and speaks our language! His channel makes me happier than Honey-senpai (Haninozuka Mitsukuni) with a slice of cake.

For any of you who don’t know, I identify as an otaku. In anime speak, that means someone who is slightly to moderately obsessed with anything, but most notably anime and/or manga. Please do not call us weeaboos. It’s not funny.

Glass Reflection is a YouTube channel by a person who goes by the name Arkada. He mostly focuses on anime reviews, where he goes over every excruciating detail in an anime, blows it up, and smacks it into your face with the force of a skydiving elephant.

What I like most about his videos isn’t the humor (but that’s awesome too!). I like how opiniated his views are, and how he doesn’t shy away from them. It doesn’t matter how popular an anime is, if he thinks it sucks, he will tell you it sucks. (Looking at you SAO, and School Days.) Glass Reflection videos are different from some other reviewer videos because he doesn’t try to sugarcoat anything.

And it’s not that he says something is awful and disgusting just for the fun of it. Arkada videos actually have substantial evidence to back up everything he says. Even if you don’t necessarily agree with him (which, by the way, doesn’t matter to him at all *ahem, ahem, all the YOI fans who blew up in his face, ahem*), it’s hard to say that he’s lying.

Glass Reflection’s dry, sarcastic, humorous videos are refreshing. I can’t tell you how much I rely on his input when choosing some animes, because, frankly, when he says something is good, it’s a landmark moment.

For anyone who already watches anime, or even anyone who would like to start, I would check out Glass Reflection’s channel. You won’t regret it.

  1. I think you’ve found your inner peace. Someone who actually understand your troubles because I hear about the anime you watched last night but I don’t understand what you’re talking about. To me anime is something fun and sad at the same time, the creators make great characters and then make them die.

  2. I am SO tired of being called a weeaboo, I mean most people who say it don’t even know what that means.
I will definitely check out Glass Reflection, that seems like the perfect thing for me!
