Ok so I know that I have already posted about going to summit and competing, but on this blog post I am going to talk about the parks and other stuff on the trip!
I haven’t been to Disney in like five years, so I am very excited! The last time I went with my family, I chickened out on like a TON of the rides… But this time I am not going to let that happen and I AM going to ride lots of rides!:) I really want to go on the roller coasters like expedition Everest, splash mountain, space mountain, one of my favorites which is thunder mountain, and so many more! Also the food is really good at Disney!!
I usually get really scared of planes… So I have my fingers crossed that I won’t be terrified like I usually am.
In teen skills we are about to start sewing! I’m excited but also nervous at the same time. I’ve never really sewed before, so this will be a new experience for me! My pattern is a purple- blue background with white flowers on it. I am mostly worried about the needle breaking and hitting my finger, I am very scared of needles.
I probably won’t be making my own clothes when I’m older, but I mean hey it’s good to learn! Really the only sewing that I have ever done is pretty much in Girl Scouts. I really liked the cooking, and I don’t want it to end. I’m really excited though, because my sewing machine is right by my friends!

The waves trickle along my toes,
The soft ocean sprays across my nose.
The sand was compliant under my feet,
Exactly where the ocean and it decide to meet.
The water rose and enveloped around my shin,
The salt water numbing against the skin.
A shell drifted, caught in the tide,
A tiny crab adrift inside.
The water enveloped around my waist.
A thousand tiny fingers around me laced.
The horizon calls, it beckons me,
Out towards it, across the sea.
I like this poem because it reminds me of being back at the beach, and it makes the ocean seem like a mysterious place, and it is! Even though I haven’t been in a while, I am ready to go back!
Here are some of the interesting and adventurous places to visit from all over Texas! Have fun exploring!!
Big Bend National Park – Big Bend has canyons, deserts, mountains, and rivers. It has an elevation from 1,800 feet along the Rio Grande, and 8,000 feet in the Chisos Mountains.
Enchanted Rock – Hiking, backpacking, and picnicking are just some of the many things you can do at Enchanted Rock.

San Antonio River Walk – The River Walk is a network of walkways and sidewalks throughout the San Antonio River Walk. The Walk is a mixture of stores and resturaunts.
I know that we found out a few weeks ago, but my cheer team is going to Disney World! We are all very excited. In order to go to this competition, we had to win a bid at one of our competitions, we won ours at Cheersport in Atalnta! We all met in the gym after we got back from Atlanta, and we watched the bid ceremony off of one of the tvs they have up at Cheer Athletics. It felt so surreal when the announcer on the tv said “Cheer Athletics Rubycats!” Pearlcats which are a senior 4.2 team also got one!
My sister is very excited about going to the parks, and I am too!! I am not as scared of roller coasters as I was when I was 7 (but I still don’t like the crazy ones.) Also the food at Disney is amazing, at least that’s what I remember from a few years ago! I am very excited and can’t wait to compete!
Teen skills has been a really fun class!
For the past few weeks we have got the opportunity to cook in Teen Skills, and it has been an exciting adventure! Tomorrow some of the kitchens are making buttercream frosting, and the others are making chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry cupcakes. My kitchen is making the chocolate cupcakes and I’m really excited! Last week we made cookies cakes but I wasn’t at school that day so I was really bummed out that I missed it. The week before that we made sticky buns, which tasted like heaven; they were marshmallows dipped in butter and cinnamon sugar, wrapped in a croissant. They were to die for!
In our next lesson, we are going to learn about sewing. We get to sew pajama pants and my fabric is a really cute, and soft floral print. Those will be so comfy to sleep in!
I am really excited to see what else Teen Skills has in store!!
Tumbling is one of my favorite things to do!
I have been doing tumbling since I was two years old, and even then I knew I loved it! Sometimes when I’m at my grandparents house, they show me old videos of me and my sister doing forward rolls, cartwheels and walking all over the beams at Champions Westlake. My parents said they noticed that when I was very little, I liked to climb all over stuff and that’s when they decided to put me into tumbling classes.
Now tumbling has really grown on me. When I’m not busy, you will usually find me jumping on my trampoline in my backyard, or trying to get new skills up at CA! At cheer practices at Cheer Athletics I always wish we could spend whole cheer practices tumbling!
I have a really big competition in two weeks in altlanta! I am really nervous, but at the same time really excited! The week after that I have the largest one in Dallas! Competitions are always really fun because I can see all of my teammates and friends at the hotels. Last year in Dallas, I met up with one of my friends and we went to go eat dinner and walk around a mall that was attached to the hotel.
There is a lot of pressure riding on us on these next two competitions. I know even if we don’t win, we would have tried our best! We have poured all of our blood, sweat and tears into the two and a half minute routine that we will perform!
My winter break was filled with a lot of exciting memories! I got to spend time with lots of my family!
I was happy to take a break from my busy schedule of cheer, and school! Spending Christmas Eve night at the candlelight church service was so fun and beautiful, because we had candles while the orchestra played silent night. I like not having to keep up with homework and not worry about any tests.
It was fun to run down the stairs on Christmas morning like we saw in videos of us from a few years ago! Opening the gifts and looking through our stockings is always a big surprise!
This winter break was one of the best ones yet!!
I am so excited that Christmas is almost here! I always like to see all the Christmas commercials come on tv, and it always puts me in the spirit when radio stations start playing Christmas songs. I know we would all really enjoy it if it snowed here in Texas sometime this winter! In first grade, I remember it started snowing when I was in art class and we all got SO excited!!
I love spending the holidays with my family and friends. My family has a tradition where we always go to the Christmas Eve church service, it’s really fun! Ice skating is also really fun, my dad always takes my sister to go skating. I like to watch Christmas movies and drink hot chocolate, and have a fire in our fireplace!
