The Other Side of the Angel Part One

Author’s Note: This story is set in the middle of the Phantom of the Opera. If you have not watched it, you can click here. This was also inspired by Ella Enchanted.

“Ignorant fool! This brave young suitor, sharing in my triumph!” the Phantom shouted loudly as Christine quietly approached the enchanted mirror.

“I must get revenge somehow”, he muttered under his breath.

Just then, Christine tripped and a small perfume at her vanity toppled over with a crash.

The loud disturbance gave the Phantom an idea.

“Angel?” Christine asks, hope lacing in her voice.

“My dear, your time has come.”

Eager to please, Christine soon fell under his spell, eyes turning from a hazel brown to a dull grey, then back again. She raced out of her dressing room, bumping into a concerned Raoul.

“Christine? I heard you sing tonight. You were fantastic! I don’t know if you remember me… Raoul?”

Christine started to feel a little reluctance as she looked into Raoul’s hopeful eyes.

“Yes! Let’s go up to the roof and catch up.”

Raoul’s whole face lit up.

“I would love to!”

As they climbed the winding staircase, Raoul started to talk about what he had been up to. By the time they had reached the roof, Christine felt like she had never left, always at Raoul’s side.

“Christine, this might be too fast but I think I’m in love with you.”

‘Love with you.. love with you.. love with you’

The words echoed in Christine’s mind as her eyes faded to the dusty, mindless grey.

  1. One of the things I enjoy most about your writing are the insights you give us into a character’s mood and thoughts. Great details here!
