My original poem

Ollie

I spotted him sitting there.

He looked so sweet like a flower

but so tough like a bull.

He was as black as a shadow, but still so small.

He was barking and jumping

and wagging his tail like a maniac.

He was so excited to see us.

I knew he was the one.

My family knew too.

We played and played with him

He was leaping, sprinting, and jumping like a cheetah.

We played with him until he almost fell asleep.

Then we held him so tight

Soon enough after he was ours.

I couldn’t believe that Ollie Clement Barton was a new member to our family.

Soon enough after he was ours.

I couldn’t believe that Ollie Clement Barton was a new member to our family.

Author’s note

My poem was inspired by my first dog Ollie.

The poem explains a little bit on how he looked. The type of poem is a free poem with no rhyming but has figurative language. I went through 3 processes for this poem. My first was my friend revising, my second was people in my group, and my third one was me revising my poem.
