Reading

Why do I read? There are a lot of reasons why I read hear are I few:

To experience new things • To watch a movie without a set cast • To explore the minds of different people and befriend different characters • To let your imagination soar above 1000 stars • To learn and relearn • To open up your mind to a thousand new emotions • To get better and facing challenges.

Because everything that matters is read – by you • It’s a relaxing act. Experience lifetimes in the space of minutes. • Because reading sharpens emotion • To solve problems • To talk to lost friends • To see authors’ different styles • To conquer fear and set love free • Because readers live a thousand lives.

That is why I read.

Color

Color — it is so important in our lives, we use it to find areas of buildings and know when to go for traffic. What is the real importance of color in our lives??

Color is everywhere. It’s in rainbows, the sky, the grass, apples, oranges and so much more. In Lois Lowry’s The Giver, the characters live in a society where there is no color, and Jonas is one of the only ones that can see color. I think that the color symbolizes the ability to see that there’s something wrong in that society. It reminds me of the saying, “You can’t have a rainbow without a little rain,” the color shows that there’s no pain in that society but there’s also no real happiness.

I think that color is very important in our lives today, but because we are so used to it we don’t appreciate it as much as we should. How would the sky look if it wasn’t blue or if the grass wasn’t green, or if the amber waves of grain were actually just gray waves of grain?

The Lonely Chasm

Drip, drip, drip. The icy cold water drips from the stalactites hanging in the darkness above. This dark, damp, place s where the phantom of the opera lives. The pipe organ, looming above everything, the lake rarely moving, besides the little ripples from drops. And lastly, the phantom, composing his music of the night.

Dark, damp, dreary. The blackness inside the cave reflects the darkness within. As he site, composing his maniacal music . You see shadows elongating and moving around the caver. The cave, so far away from the surface that anything trapped inside may never see the light of day. As for the phantom, he may never see the light if it were staring him right in the face, so consumed is he in the night.

STRESS!!!!!!

Ugh!! I am so stressed right now. Between the all region choir auditions, the SAT and just plain old school, I have a lot to do right now. I also have volleyball, dance, DI and I have to get up at 5:30 to go to basketball which starts a hour before school.

I have choir auditions this Saturday and the SAT is on the same day. So I have to finish the SAT and then I have to go to the audition really quickly so that I actually will be able to audition. I have to prepare for both of those so I will do good and not fail. So I have to take a SAT practice test when I can and I also have to practice all of my choir pieces.

Another source of stress is my Friday. I have DI right after school and then right after DI I have to come home and get ready for dance. As a result I am always late for dance class (and my teacher isn’t too happy about that) and I have to leave DI early (which I hate doing), but Di will be over in March which is sad and happy because, no more DI 🙁 , but less stress 🙂 !

I hope that I won’t be this stressed next year and that summer will come faster, so I can just laze around, eat and watch netflix each day…
