Why do I read? There are a lot of reasons why I read hear are I few:

To experience new things • To watch a movie without a set cast • To explore the minds of different people and befriend different characters • To let your imagination soar above 1000 stars • To learn and relearn • To open up your mind to a thousand new emotions • To get better and facing challenges.

Because everything that matters is read – by you • It’s a relaxing act. Experience lifetimes in the space of minutes. • Because reading sharpens emotion • To solve problems • To talk to lost friends • To see authors’ different styles • To conquer fear and set love free • Because readers live a thousand lives.

That is why I read.

Dallas Volleyball Tournament

This weekend I am going to Dallas for a volleyball tournament and I am so excited!!! I love playing volleyball and I am really hoping to win. But I really don’t care if we lose I just want to have fun.

On Friday, we are leaving to go to the Sheraton (I think that is how you spell it) hotel and we are staying there for 3 nights. The games start on Saturday and I am really excited. I’m going to be missing Monday and I’m pretty happy about that. I think that we have the skills to win and that we can beat some really good teams.

I’m super excited to go and I am really looking forward to having a lot of fun with my friends. Some other teams are going and some of the people on those teams are my friends and I am hoping that we can play against them.

Last Game!!!

Today is our last game of the basketball season against Hudson Bend, and I am so excited and kinda sad. Sad because it’s our last game. Since basketball season is ending, track is starting next week, and I am really excited for that. I hope we win this game and finish our season on a good note — and we have a party tomorrow :)!!!!!!

I am really excited because track!!! I was thinking of doing either the 100 or 200 meter dash (which would be hard because so many people would be doing it) the 100 meter hurdles, the long jump, and maybe the 400 by 100 relay (if they have that in middle school).  The thing is, that all the jumps and hurdles are after school and I’m not sure if I can go. I think I can, but I don’t know. I’m also excited for track because I get to do it with more friends than the other sports. I had friends in the other sports, but I get to do track with more friends.

Another reason I  am excited (I’m so excited this month) is that I have a lot of volleyball tournaments, which is really exciting. I am excited because the first we went to was last Saturday and it was SO MUCH FUN!!!

All in all, I am so excited this month, and after this month spring break will come up!!!!!!

In 2 weeks I have to go to Pflugerville Middle School for All-Region Choir auditions. ♪♫

I have to go to PMS (Pflugerville Middle School) on January 24. The problem is that I need to take the SAT on that day, so I get a late time slot around 2:00. Even then, it will be hard to get there. I am carpooling with my friend, Sarah, and we both are trying out. She is a soprano 1 (which is the highest part) and I am a soprano 2 (which is the lowest part).

The auditions are blind auditions, which means that the judges can’t see you and you can’t see the judges. Also the judges don’t know anybody’s name; everybody gets numbers instead. You have to learn 4 pieces (this year’s pieces are: Safe and Sound, She Sings, Aya Ngena, and Sonatemi un Balleto) then about a week from the audition they announce the 2 pieces that they will actually hear you sing. After that, like 2 days away from the audition, they tell you which part of the songs they want to hear. Finally, you audition.

We have been practicing for the competition for 2 weeks, and I really want to get in.  The hardest pieces in my opinion are Sonatemi un Balleto (it’s in italian) and She Sings.

Comment below if you have ever auditioned!!!

Going to New York!!!

I am really looking forward to Christmas break this year. I am going to New York this year for almost the whole Christmas break. I have relatives that live there and it is going to be so fun. My aunt and uncle live there with my 2 cousins; one of them is in his senior year of collage and the other is in 3rd grade.

This is the 2nd time that I am going this year(I went in summer). Last time I went, I went to Wicked on Broadway and this time we are going to Cinderella —I am so excited!!

I am going to be spending Christmas there and I am really looking forward to browsing shops in New York. Here I kind of know what I want and where to get it, but there I won’t know what I will find.

I hope that we will go to the ball drop, but we might not and maybe that is a good thing because there is probably going to be a lot of people there. If I watch it at the house then I have a guaranteed and undisturbed view (comment below what I should do).

Anyways, I am really excited because I can meet my relatives and have a lot of fun.

This last week I was FaceTiming my friend, Sachi, and I found my old yearbooks. She looked for hers and found them and we spent 2 hours looking back at us and our friends without even knowing it.

It was really fun and it felt really good when we were looking back and reliving old memories. We told each other about old teachers and old friends that we don’t see much anymore. We also started talking about old things that we’ve read or watched on TV like “The Wonder Pets” (comment if you remember), “Junie B. Jones” (Comment!!), and “The Magic Tree House”(COMMENT!!!).

My favorite teacher was my 4th grade teacher, Ms.Schumann, (follow her on instagram @pandaschu). She is a Westlake girl and she was on Highline. She is very young and awesomesauce. On the last days of school I can distinctly remember that there was 2 girls crying and at least half the class was on the verge of tears(including me). I still miss her and hope to see her again soon.

I had 2 friends that both moved to San Diego and I haven’t seen them in forever(It makes me think that there is a secret club or something there). They were both my best friends and I had always talked with them. I still have other friends now, but I don’t think that I will forget them.

My Fanfiction

I just recently started writing a fanfiction about Percy Jackson. It’s set after the giant war and it’s a betrayal story. Annabeth betrays Percy by cheating on him with his half-brother. Now, before you get mad at me, let me tell you that I  LOVE Percabeth, I would never want them to break up in the real story, but in the fanfiction it would be better if they broke up. Percy will most likely be with Thalia, but I would love if you guys gave me suggestions!

The whole plot of the story is basically this: Percy gets betrayed by Annabeth and now his only friends are Nico and Thalia; they all run away from Camp Half-Blood because they hate all the campers. When they are about to die, Chaos rescues them and they become amazing fighters. Then, 500 years later they have to go back to earth and help the gods against a enemy(I don’t know who yet) and they still don’t like them and they go back to the chaos realm, but that’s all I know right now.

The story is called betrayed and I would love if you would read it(when I publish it).

Dance Recital

I have a dance recital coming up. I do Bharatanatyam, a style of Indian classical dance, I dance at DIVYATHRAYAM school of dance. The recital is on Sunday, November 2, 2014, and I am doing 4 items(dances). I know that doesn’t sound like much it is a lot in this style of dance.

The thing about preforming Bharatanatyam is the makeup, it is ANNOYING! There is literally like 3 pounds of makeup on your face(like 1 pound of that is foundation) it is the most annoying thing. 2nd place goes to the jewelry(that’s right, we where jewelry while dancing) and hair. The jewelry is like 5 pounds (that’s 8 pounds of stuff now) and it’s all pulling back on your head (so your head feels like it will fall off). The hair is either a bun or a braid(usually, it may change), the bun is just very uncomfortable, but the braid is annoying because you have to add fake hair to your regular hair(if you don’t have hair that long already) so you feel the weight of your hair double and that is pulling on your head another 1 pound(9 pounds). The least annoying thing is the costume, it’s the biggest thing but it is the least annoying. It just depends on what you get it stitched out of, but the usual things that go wrong is that it is getting small(or big), it is itchy ect.

But all in all I love dance and preforming is really a small part of it, my favorite thing is learning about new stories and getting to share them out to other people, I also feel very in touch with my heritage when I am dancing.

Texas Teen Book Festival!!!

Yesterday I went to the Texas Teen Book Festival (TTBF), it was SO exciting!! I loved it, I got 2 books signed and bought many pre-signed books, I got “Champion” by Marie Lu signed and I got “Death Cure” by James Dashner signed. I also bought signed editions of “If I stay” by Gayle Forman, “The 100” by Kass Morgan, and “Deceived” by L.A Starkey, I ALSO (I know I did a lot of things) bought regular editions of “Five Out of the Dark” by Holli Anderson, and “The 5th Wave” by Rick Yancey.

I went to this writing camp where they chose 1 person to represent each class at this festival. I wasn’t chosen but I still went and they make a book with all of the children’s writing in it and they have it published(so technically I’m a published author). After that I went to stand in the MILE LONG book sales line, BOOK SALES! The book sales line was longer than the actual author signing line, thankfully It didn’t take that long. While I was in the line my friend Maddie(her blog is under the “friends blogs” tab) found me and we talked. After like an HOUR I finally got into the tent and bought all of the above books.

When I finished buying the books, me and Maddie went to the James Dashner keynote, which was him telling us young people how he became a published author and it was really interesting. He wanted to be a published author for a long time but since it was really hard he instead became an accountant, and he really struggled to become the big author he is today. after that we waited in the line to get our books signed, since we didn’t want to wait in 2 different lines, we made our parents wait in one line and we waited in the other and we got all of our books signed in 1 shot.

Right after our books got signed we went to the cafeteria and ate lunch, then we went to a panel discussion, the subject was “From Shelf to Screen” so James Dashner (Maze Runner), Gayle Forman (If I Stay), and Kass Morgan (The 100, which is a TV Show) were all there and Ransom Riggs (The moderator) asked questions about how they felt about the movie and how it was working on the set with the actors and basically anything you can think about to ask authors about their movies.

All in all the Texas Teen Book Festival was amazing and I am really looking forward to next year.
