The Dog Next Door

For my entire life I have lived with small animals.  Small hamsters, small dogs, small chickens, small everything.  So it was a little strange when our neighbor’s came over to introduce their new BIG dog.  They called him Nate.

We were worried about our little animals, so my little brother asked, “Will he try and kill our pets?”  She kind of laughed and said, “I don’t know, I guess we’ll find out.” in a playful kind of way.  We all knew it was a ridiculous question.  I mean why would she have a pet that would harm other pets.  It just doesn’t make any sense.

But I guess we were wrong.

It had been a couple years after they got Nate, when we bought two bunnies.  They loved to hop around outside in their cage, but one day, one of them escaped. It wasn’t hard to find her. We found her in the garage eating cat food.  We tried to get her to put her back in the cage, but she wouldn’t let us grab her.

A couple days later, after trying and trying to get her to go back in her cage, she went missing again.  We looked for her everywhere. We were looking for her for days when…I was walking near the back of my yard and thought I saw her out of the corner of my eye.  So I went over to the spot where I thought I saw her and found her laying down sleeping.

But only she wasn’t sleeping.

At first I had no idea what or how something got in our back yard and got her.  Then I glanced over to the gate, separating us from our neighbors.  There was a hole in the gate big enough for a big dog to get through.  Then I knew what happened.

Nate!

Bad Game

The whistle blew signaling the end of the soccer game.  My coach’s face turned red with anger and embarrassment of our performances on the field.

He shouted for us to come over for a meeting. He didn’t talk for a while. He just glared at everyone, trying to dig into our soul.  Then, out of no where he yelled, “That was unacceptable!” He paused and looked at all of us.  “Please tell me this is not how you plan to play this season!” he said in a frustrated voice.

I could tell that everyone was beginning to feel frightened by the tone in his voice. He calmed him self down a little and walked away. We all looked at each other in fear. We thought we were done, so we began to pack up our stuff. Then suddenly, he called for us to come over behind the goal.

We all walked over to him. I thought maybe he had calmed down a bit, but I was wrong! He was as mad as he was before. He told us to form two lines. We were all to scared to object to anything he said, so we did it. Then he told us how disappointed he was in us again. He made us do suicide exercises over and over again.

He was trying to torture us!

We had a bad game, but he expected too much of us. We had not played in a while, and the other team was a year older than our team.

After the suicides he made us do other little drills. After 45 minutes of drills after drills, he finally told us we could go home. He wasn’t as mad any more, but he still wasn’t in a good mood. I hoped he wouldn’t take it out on us in practice next week.

Have you ever been yelled at during or after a game? If so, why?

Christmas Time!

The time to celebrate is here
So give out a loud big cheer
The twenty fifth of December
Is the date to remember
You have so much fun and joy
When you receive the first toy
But Christmas doesn’t last
But the memories won’t stay in the past
This is not the time to leer
Because it’s almost the New Year!

Thanksgiving

Ever since I remember I’ve been having Thanksgiving at my grandmothers house.  So receiving my soccer schedule for this year was very disappointing.   I saw that they had scheduled a tournament in Dallas; on the day of Thanksgiving.  At first I thought there was no way my parents would let me go, but they surprised me, and said I had the choice to go or to not go.

It took me while to decide, but I finally made up my mind and went ahead to go to the tournament.

I really hoped I didn’t make any one mad having to drive to Dallas on Thanksgiving day.  I also hope no one was disappointed having to celebrate Thanksgiving a day early.

Although we had to celebrate early everyone had a really good time.  Driving to Dallas was a long trip, but no one seemed to care when we stopped at Jack in the Box for dinner; when everyone else was eating turkey and mashed potatoes. ect  My soccer tournament went well and we had a very good time in Dallas, and I’m ready to do it all again this year.

Birthday

Next week it will be my thirteenth birthday.  I’m not really gonna have a birthday party, because it seems to kiddish for a 13 year old.  So I’m going to just go to the movies with some friends. It wasn’t always like this.  I used to have the biggest birthday parties.  Like my 6th birthday party, now that was awesome!!!

When I was turning 6, I had a surprise birthday party, but the surprise wasn’t for me, it was for the guests.  Around 8am we went out and drove to all my friends houses who were invited to the party. They had no idea we were coming, but their parents knew.  When we got to each of their houses I would get out, knock on the door, and when my friend opened the door I would say ” I’m kidnapping you to come to my 6th birthday.”  They were all still in their pajamas and looked a little confused at first, but they all got in the car one by one.

After the last person was kidnapped we headed back to my house.  Once we got there we all sat down at a table and were delivered menus. We all ordered from the menus and were served our breakfast soon after that.  We finished breakfast and of course being girls we all played dress up, and put on our favorite princess dress.  We played around and began to settle down when the magic act guy showed up.  He was very good at his job; he made things disappear then reappear. It was so much fun to watch.

It was a really good party; one of the best I’ve ever been to. Now the parties are little, and I got to say I like the smaller parties better.

HALLOWEEN

It was dark and scary night;
All the costumes gave me a fright.
I said goodbye to all the light;
And walked the street in the mid of night.
There were people around me left and right;
Trying to get the best candy without a fight.
Seeing my candy grow, I thought I just might;
End up with the most candy of the night.

Halloween Costume!

When I was younger, all I wanted to be for Halloween was something scary, gross, or disgusting.

I remember I went through a phase where I was obsessed with vampires.  So that year, I tried to find the best vampire costume to wear on Halloween.  I was really proud of what I found.  I wore a creepy dress, with white makeup all over my face, and dark makeup around my eyes.

A couple years later, I was a doctor.  I wanted to be a doctor, because I was obsessed with the show, Grey’s Anatomy.  The actors were all doctors, and it seemed like it was a lot of fun.  I wore blue scrubs with a surgical mask, and some doctor tools to resemble a doctor performing a surgery.

This year is totally different.  A group of my friends and I planned to do a group costume.  We all decided to do different types of candy as our costume.  I did Nerds.  We made our own shirts.  I put the Nerds logo on the shirt, and surrounded it with the Nerd looking animals.  The whole group is wearing the shirts we made, Nike shorts, and long socks.

This years costume is different then the others, because I’m just not as excited to dress up for Halloween as I used to be.

Oops!

Two days after last summer started, my family and I, traveled to Esla Mujaries, Mexico. This was our first beach trip out of the country with my two little brothers. They were so excited to leave the country, especially my brother Jake, he couldn’t wait to leave kindergarten to go to the beach in Mexico.

We arrived in Esla Mujaries around 1:00pm. The day had already started there. The streets were lined up with dancers, and you could see a little shop everywhere you looked. We met up with some friends who were the ones who told us about this tiny island off of cocoon. We spent the rest of our day playing at the beach right behind our hotel.

Day 2, of our Esla adventure started out with a bang. We woke up bright and early to go to breakfast on the other side of the island. We got to ride there in golf carts. After breakfast we all decided to go ride the golf carts around the island. The island is very small so we got to the other side, the opposite of our hotel, in a breeze.

On our way back to the hotel, we stopped at a well known zip lining spot over the edge of the island dripping right over the ocean. We thought it would be a lot of fun for all of us to do it. Most of us had the courage to sign up, but a few stayed behind to just watch. I was surprised that Jake wanted to do it. I kept thinking he was gonna chicken out of it, but he never did. He was to young to go by him self, so someone that works there had to go with him.

Believe it or not, Jake was the first up to go. Then it was me, my friend, then after her it was both my parents. There were 4 zip lines we went on. The first was easy. Then the next three were over the ocean. It was so pretty, I loved looking out into the ocean, while gliding through the air. Jake looked like he was having so much fun. As soon as I got to the final rope he was already going down it. He was having so much fun. Everybody was having a load of fun.

I was front in line to go down the final line, with my parents lined up behind me. When all the sudden the guy right next to me started yelling things I didn’t understand. Then it came. We heard a big bang, then silence……. Then a screeching yell that seemed like it came out of no where. But no it did not come out of no where. We soon realized it was coming from my little brother, the one that was just a few seconds later was having so much fun. The yelling was coming from Jake.

My parents didn’t know what was happening. All they knew was that their son was hurt and they had to get to him. So they hopped on to the zip line in front of me, and slid down the rope racing to get to Jake and see what had just happened to him. By the time I finally got down Jake had been raced to the first aid kit lady who was now rapping his head. I didn’t get to stay long before they told me I needed to go to give them space.

A few minutes later I got to see Jake, and he looked perfectly fine to me. But I still had no clue what had happened. Jake, my parents, and a family friend went to the hospital to go get everything checked out. So I stayed behind with my friend and her parents waiting for a call to hear what the doctor said. While we were waiting I finally got to hear what happened to my brothers head.

They said… He was waiting for his parents to come down from the zip line. He was standing on a platform behind where the main platform was. The main platform was the last platform for the zip line where you take off all your equipment. Then they put it in a bag, and they use these hauling equipment to pull up the heavy bag of harnesses. The bag was almost all the way up when the line snapped. And was tumbling back down the line and was coming right for the back of my brothers head. He was thrown forward and hit the front of his head. So that’s how he craked the front and the back of his head.

A few hours later we got the call, and all they said was that he was fine and that they were coming back in a few hours. So this kinda recked the rest of the trip for Jake, because they said he couldn’t get into the water for a week. We still had a lot of fun, and Jake found a way to have fun with out the water. The trip to Esla Mujaries didn’t start out well, but we made it work.

Aced It

Gather on the court;
To play my favorite sport.
Pass, set, spike it;
Thats the way we like it.
Points on the board;
We’re the team that scored.
We just got an ace;
And beat them to first place!
