The first day I didn’t have the same thought though. I was actually quite disappointed because I was one of 3 people at out youth group to be placed in a cabin separate from the majority of our group. But I decided to make the most of it and have a good time in our cabin, and after I kept an open mind I actually had a lot of fun in the CC (cool cabin).
The second day we woke up at 7:30 and got to go first to a hearty breakfast. Right after breakfast ended, we went to our small groups. Now I thought small group was going to be the worst part of this whole experience, but it was actually the BEST part. Our group was really fun and casual and we got along really well together.
Soon after our small group, we went to lunch. After eating about two sloppy joes and a plate of jello we had to go back to our small group, but little did I know we were in for a surprise when we got there.
“Y’all have been moved to the high school group, from now on you’ll eat with the high schoolers.” Said Wes.
Just imagine hearing that… You’re already not with your friends in the same cabin but now you have to eat the rest of our meals WITHOUT them?!
That’s when I started to feel a little down again, but again, I kept an open mind, and YET again, I had an AMAZING time.
During meals from then on, I ate with my small group and we got to bond even more. It was a really good experience to hang out with them, I got to hang out with people rather then my friends and it was a privilege to get to know each and every one of them.
What about ya’ll? Any fun camps that you’ve been to?
