Your first going to start with baking or buying a cake of your choice. I’m using a chocolate cake recipe. If you want to use it keep on reading. if not then scroll down. Chocolate Cake: This recipe makes two 9 inch cakes. Ingredients for the cake:
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1 3/4 cup of sugar
- 3/4 cup of sweetened cocoa powder ( I personally like to have 1/2 a cup of sweetened cocoa powder and 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder).
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of boiling water
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Then grease and flour the pans or I like to use parchment paper on the cake pans so it will be easier to take out of the pans.
In a large bowl sift then stir together flour , coco powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Then in the same bowl add milk, eggs, vanilla, and oil. Mix for about 2 minutes so all the ingredients are well incorporated. Then finally stir in the bowling water. After mixing all the ingredients together. Pour it evenly into the pre made cake pan.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. To check if they are completely baked inside take a toothpick and poke it into the cake and when you take it out if no crumbs are on the toothpick then it is fully cooked. Then let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. After that take them fully out of the pan and put it on a wire rack to fully cool.
While the cakes are cooling. Your going to need icing so I’m making it while the cakes are cooling. For the icing you can really choose anything. For the icing I’m choosing cream cheese icing.
Ingredients for the cream cheese frosting:
6 ounces of cream cheese,at room temperature
4 tablespoons on unsalted, at room temperature
1/4 of vanilla extract
4 cups confectioners sugar
Place all ingredients in a bowl together and mix until light and fluffy.
Now that we made the icing the cake should sort of cooled. So what your going to do is cut the cake in half and cut it into smaller pieces. Then take 2 pieces of cake and rub them against each other in the icing bowl. Keep on rubbing this until all your cake is in crumbs. Since now all the class is in crumbs it’s time to make the cake pops. So what your going to do is mix together the icing and cake the best tool to do this is use your hands. When you mix all the icing and cake together you can now sculpt the balls. I used a ice cream scoops so you could have each cake pop have the same amount of cake in each one. Now your going to freeze them. Then your going to cover them in candy melts chocolate or something of your choice. Then while the cover over the cake is drying put on styrofoam and put the stick in it so its sanding up right and it can all dry.
