Prisoner is about a Jewish boy named Yanek, who lived in World War 2 in the 1930’s. Yanek was taken from his home in Germany when he was twelve years old. He is separated from his family and his friends and is sent to a concentration camp where he is starved and worked to death. During his first concentration camp he finds his uncle and together they survive for the time being. However a couple weeks later Yanek finds out that his uncle has been shot and died on the spot. A couple days later Yanek is sent to another concentration camp. He and hundreds of other prisoners are forced to walk in the winter all the way to another town. They walk for two weeks and are only given a loaf of bread to eat. The story goes on like this with twists and turns on every page. Will the Americans come to save the Jews?
