Summary:

Prisoner is about a Jewish boy named Yanek, who lived in World War 2 in the 1930’s. Yanek was taken from his home in Germany when he was twelve years old. He is separated from his family and his friends and is sent to a concentration camp where he is starved and worked to death. During his first concentration camp he finds his uncle and together they survive for the time being. However a couple weeks later Yanek finds out that his uncle has been shot and died on the spot. A couple days later Yanek is sent to another concentration camp. He and hundreds of other prisoners are forced to walk in the winter all the way to another town. They walk for two weeks and are only given a loaf of bread to eat. The story goes on like this with twists and turns on every page. Will the Americans  come to save the Jews?

Reflection:

I thought that this book was one of the best books I’ve ever read! It was so fascinating and interesting. Every page would make you jump with fear or smile with satisfaction! Summary: 

Lina is a completely ordinary girl living in Seattle. When her mom is diagnosed with Panacreatic Cancer, she tells Lina that she needs to go live in Italy with her moms best friend, Howard. She tells her that Howard is the best guy she’s ever met and that he is her father. However when Lina arrives at his house in the middle of a cemetery, she meets Sonya, another caretaker of the cemetery. Sonya gives Lina a diary that her mother sent while she was in college. As Lina starts to read it, she unfolds more and more secrets that her mother had in her past life. Apart from her mother’s mysterious life, she also meets new friends including a handsome guy named Ren. Together she and Ren work together to find out who Lina’s real father is!

Reflection:

I thought this book was really interesting. It includes some mystery,  but also some romance. Although some parts were a little boring, as soon as you read past them there would always be a huge turn in the story. Each page would end in a cliffhanger. You were always wanting to read more!
