LA Galaxy vs. NE Revolution game

I was going for the New England Revolution. Katie was going for LA Galaxy.  Sadly, the final score was 2-1; I guess Donovan got his fairytale ending.

Towards the end, it was a huge clash of cleats. LA’s goalie, Jaime Penedo, and A.J. Soares collided, and as the Galaxy player stalled (pretending to be in great pain, as many do to waste time) Soares began to get irritated.

To speed him up, AJ lifted the fallen goalie right off his feet, but then got even more frustrated for some reason, and pushed him right back down into the turf. Penedo face planted, and proceeded to sit up and look back up at the people now surrounding him, anger clearly burning bright in his eyes. After, Soares strode away confidently, without a look of regret on his face.

Check out a short clip of the occurrence down below!

Christmas

Christmas is my favorite holiday. There’s just so much to love, from good food to having friends and family around to giving and getting gifts to the religious aspect of it all. Here are some of my favorite things:

~A mug of hot chocolate in my hand, marshmallows bobbing around like buoys in the rich dark drink; that feel after you burn your tongue.

~Bright red and green Christmas lights everywhere, strung artfully over pine trees and house tops and mailboxes. They glow through even the darkest winter nights.

~Piles of presents laid under the tree, delicately topped with little bows and shiny wrapping paper. Later comes the joy of ripping them open, holding up a new toy.

~Lights dimly lit in the quiet church on Christmas Eve, “Silent Night” echoing through the air. As the service ends, “Joy to the World” explodes through the sound speakers, and the lights shine brighter than ever before.

~Friends and family coming together to eat good food, sing carols merrily, and decorate the house from top to bottom. An abundance of laughter and love is around me on Christmas!

I think too often the religious aspect of this day is sucked out, (the whole story behind Christmas) and all that really matters to kids and adults is that we got the right toys and gifts. For me, Christmas is not just a time for presents, but for family time and fun!
