A Place Where I’d like to go

If I had to choose a place to visit I would be stuck in between Japan. So far, I have visited many places like California, New York, Canada, Hawaii, etc….. Although I am still yearning to visit Japan.

One reason, is because I am half Japanese. I would like to visit my ancestor’s country and observe the different lifestyles. One of their traditions is that they wear kimonos, which is a traditional Japanese dress. Another is that they give the eye of the fish to the elders. Yuck!

Another reason why I would love to visit Japan, is because of their food (of course) and the beautiful views. Japanese food is something I find AMAZING! I don’t really know why…. but I just like it! I like sushi, ramen, and plenty other stuff. The view in Japan is beautiful. One of the go to spots is the Miyajima Island. Over there, has a very well know Itsukushima Shrine. Although these names sound really weird and abnormal, it is basically what Japanese language sounds like.

Even though I know quite a bit about Japan, I would still like to visit it. To embrace the Japanese culture, taste the great foods, and watch the beautiful scenery.

My Favorite Hobby

One of my favorite hobbies is cello. I have been with my cello for about 4 years. I have gone through many things with it. Starting from my first concert to Region 18 and so on. I have several reasons why I love the cello.

One of the reasons why I chose to play the cello was because of the beautiful sound. Our family comes from a music background so I knew that the cello was perfect for me. When I was in 4th grade, I remember selecting my instrument. The reason why I chose the cello was because I loved how it produced such a rich, sweet sound when you glide the bow over the string. When you gently press your fingers over the fingerboard, the instrument created a sweet melody. That’s why I chose the cello. There has been many memories I’ve had with the cello. One of them is Region 18. The first time I participated in Region was in 6th grade. During Region, I was so nervous. I have never done anything like this before! I thought, what am I going to do! In the end, I finally got through it. I actually didn’t do that bad as I thought I would. To me, my cello is like  a second sister to me. It’s always there to rely on.

Another reason why I love to play the cello is because I also like to participate in orchestras. I like to go to AYO which stands for Austin Youth Orchestra. AYO has 6 orchestras. Currently, I am in the 2nd highest which is the Philharmonic Orchestra. We get to play fun pieces and in the second semester we get to play with the band. Last Sunday, was our spring concert. We went to AISD’s brand new PAC. It was really cool, and it sounded amazing. There was also 2 screens on each side and was like whoa. Participating in orchestras is really fun especially if it’s with the band. Then it sounds way cooler. I really like to enjoy creating and sharing music together with other talented players.

In conclusion, I love to play the cello whether it’s by myself or with others. It really helps me feel the music more and share it with others. The cello has been with me for a long time. I hope that the cello will last with me till forever.
